The board voted to adopt Resolution 24‑43 recognizing National Special Education Day on Dec. 2 and to uplift students and staff in special education programs.
Superintendent Spall summarized the county’s work in special education and the role of individualized education plans. “December 2 is National Special Education Day,” she said in introducing the resolution and noting the county’s pride in special‑education graduations and services.
Trustees moved and seconded the resolution, which passed on roll call. Several public speakers and trustees also used the discussion to raise concerns about environmental and health contributors to disability rates and to urge continued investment in supportive services.
