The Forest, Parks & Recreation Committee opened and read timber sale bids during its March 10, 2026 meeting at Forestry Headquarters in Solon Springs. Jon Harris told the committee the tract numbers “were drawn randomly and will be opened and read in the order they were drawn,” and bids were read aloud.
After the bids were opened, Committee member Steve Long moved and Joseph Moen seconded a motion to “accept high bids most advantageous to Douglas County after they are reviewed for accuracy and qualifications.” The motion carried. The committee did not record roll-call tallies in the minutes; the motion directs staff to review awarded bids for accuracy and bidder qualifications before final acceptance.
