District administration told trustees it is finalizing the 2026–27 school calendar and encouraged board members to attend a Region 20 training that could satisfy required training hours.
"Region 20 has put together a war summit that will be held at Tapatio Spring in Boerne on February 22nd through the 24th," Dr. Gilstrap said, noting that the Sunday afternoon session from 2 to 5 p.m. would provide required ISO and team-of-eight training hours. Administration said if trustees attend that session it could fulfill both ISO and team-of-eight requirements; continuing education hours remain available at other scheduled SLI events in June.
Staff also reported that work continues on the development of the 2026–27 school calendar and that the district will review attendance, discipline, academic and staff attendance data before recommending any calendar changes. The administration will present a calendar update at the regular January board meeting.
