He announced that the COE received a Golden Bell Award and recognized staff members nominated for statewide recognition. He also reported the COE sent a letter in support of the LGBTQ community after a hate incident in the county: "We sent out a letter in support of our LGBTQ community," he said.
Sabah described partnerships to help immigrant families, including a resource fair at Watsonville High School and an online resource guide developed with local legal and service partners. He explained the COE’s role in differentiated assistance — a state-mandated process to support districts with identified student-group needs — and listed local districts and charter schools that will receive targeted support from the COE.
The superintendent also previewed the finalized strategic plan and invited trustees to a February event showcasing programs and student work.
