The board adopted a resolution related to the Gann (appropriations) limit after Fiscal Services Director Melissa Lopez explained the calculation and procedural steps required by state law (Prop 4).
Lopez walked trustees through the mechanics of the limit, including inflation and population adjustments, and recited the 2023–24 appropriations limit figure referenced in the packet and a preliminary 2024–25 COE appropriations limit of $20,365,446.91 as part of the administrative reporting process. "The 23–24 appropriations limit is $19,000,004.21... and for the 24–25 fiscal year the COE's preliminary appropriations limit is $20,365,446.91," Lopez said. (Melissa Lopez)
The board adopted the resolution by roll call; staff noted the forms will accompany the COE's SACS/unaudited actuals reporting.
