Floresville ISD holds public hearing on proposed $51.52M 2025'1026 budget

Miss Engel, the district's budget presenter, opened the public hearing with an overview of enrollment and revenue projections for the 2025'1026 school year. She said the district is planning for enrollment of about 4,050 and an average daily attendance of roughly 3,720, and presented a general fund total of $44,330,000. "So our appropriations are set there at $44,330,000 resulting in a balanced budget for this year," Miss Engel said.
Trustees asked clarifying questions about the timing of certified property values and the tax-rate process; Miss Engel confirmed that Bexar and Wilson County must provide certified values by July 25 and the district will hold a tax-rate hearing and adoption in September. The presentation broken down general-fund appropriations included $24.7 million for instruction, $6.2 million for student support, roughly $11 million for operations and $200,000 for debt service. Administration recommended the board accept the budget for final adoption at the subsequent meeting cycle after tax-rate calculations were finalized.
