Representatives of the Purple Eye County Lions Club and Tri Kappa asked commissioners for permission to use Courthouse Square for the Pumpkin Show stage and to provide limited private restroom access for organizers; commissioners granted the request with conditions that the clubs manage no-parking signage and vendor notification.
The presenter asked specifically for stage space and access to downstairs restrooms "as well as the downstairs restrooms at the courthouse on the Lions Club side," and said vendors and tents would arrive Sept. 20 and vendors would begin setting up Tuesday at 3 p.m. Commissioners emphasized that any stakes in the lawn are not allowed and that organizers must coordinate with county staff on locates, parking and cleanup.
The board approved the request by voice vote and asked staff to forward a reminder to county employees about parking during the event and to confirm keys or access arrangements for first-floor restroom use for Tri Kappa volunteers. Organizers agreed to check restrooms every two hours and to invoice the county for supplies used.
