City launches Engage McKinney platform with recycling survey

Paul Grimes, McKinney City Manager, briefed the Economic Development Corporation about Engage McKinney, an online platform designed to increase community participation.
"It's an online platform. It's designed to increase community participation and provide a central hub for residents to learn about projects and share input," Grimes said, noting the first initiative is a recycling and waste-reduction survey and that the annual budget survey also launched on April 21.
Board members asked whether more topics would be added; Grimes said the platform was newly launched and that staff will add multiple topics over time. Members also asked about outreach: marketing staff sent a recycling survey to local employers and the board was encouraged to respond and share the survey link.
Grimes also summarized other ongoing projects residents can review on Engage McKinney, including the Roy and Helen Hall Memorial Library renovation, road projects, and the 2024 bond package.
