Board sends accessory dwelling unit ordinance draft to public hearing and approves one ADU application

Tamara Twitchell moved to place the ADU ordinance draft on the agenda for a public hearing; Allan Wood seconded and the board voted unanimously. The board also reviewed and approved an ADU application during the meeting; Ms. Twitchell moved to approve the application and Mr. Wood seconded.
The board did not discuss substantive ordinance wording during the regular session beyond referring the draft to a public hearing for broader input. The public hearing will give residents the opportunity to offer comments on standards, permitted locations, and required permit conditions before any ordinance is adopted.
