Council approved a staff request to authorize a new Human Resources Manager pay-range classification to address increased managerial responsibilities in HR while the HR director position remains vacant.
Interim city administrator (Wortham) explained that the HR Division currently operates with an HR analyst and HR coordinator but has lost the director-level classification; the proposed new HR manager role would better reflect the analyst's recent higher-level responsibilities. Wortham said the request is budget-neutral because existing salary savings from the vacant director position would be repurposed.
Councilmember Beaumont moved to authorize staff to prepare an amendment to the city's adopted salary schedule and job description for the Human Resources Manager classification; the motion passed 7–0.
