Hannah, a Community Development staff member, presented the May and June 2026 department report and highlighted an uptick in accessory dwelling unit (ADU) activity since the ADU code amendment adopted in 2025: "in the last 6 months, we've had 3 ADUs approved... your hard work is paying off," she said.
Hannah also reviewed projects in review: Monroe West moved into civil review; a 191st preliminary plat had a recent public hearing; Surfer Station 32 received site plan approval and is beginning civil construction with fencing and signage already in place; conditional use permits include Gilman Montessori and a Gold's Gym (staff refunded permit fees after an interim downtown commercial code amendment for gyms). The department continues code enforcement and outreach to candidates on temporary sign permits.
