Delenna Crufferd of Custer County Planning & Zoning briefed trustees on GeoPermit, an online permit portal that integrates with Q‑Public GIS and supports building, fence and short‑term rental permit applications. Crufferd said the County received a grant that covers GeoPermit expenses through 2026; beginning in 2027 the portal will cost $24,000 per year, with the county paying $12,000 and Silver Cliff and Westcliffe each asked to pay $6,000 annually. She said the onboarding process for Westcliffe—handled by Deputy Clerk Melane Rella—will proceed through the end of March 2026.
Trustees voted to join the portal and authorized staff to begin onboarding. The move is intended to centralize permit applications and GIS-based mapping for town and county permitting; trustees approved participation while noting the long‑term cost-sharing obligations beginning in 2027.
