The Westcliffe Board of Trustees approved Ordinance No. 5-2025 (Adopting the 2026 Budget), Ordinance No. 6-2025 (Appropriation of Funds from the 2026 Budget) and Ordinance No. 7-2025 (Set Mill Levy for 2026) in a single motion during the Dec. 9, 2025 meeting. Mayor Wenke moved to approve all three ordinances together and Mr. Jagow seconded; the board recorded "Motion carried."
Mayor Wenke opened a public hearing on the budget earlier in the meeting and said it was limited to public comment only, with a three-minute maximum per speaker; no one spoke. "Mayor Wenke would like to approve all three budget ordinances (agenda items e, f, and g) together in one motion," the mayor said before reading the ordinances aloud. The board’s approval completes Westcliffe’s formal budget adoption and appropriation steps for 2026 and sets the mill levy as described in Ordinance No. 7-2025.
The meeting record does not include a roll-call tally for the vote; the minutes note the motion carried. Next procedural steps recorded in the meeting were adoption of the five-year Capital Plan and routine staff reports.
