Board approves Dec. 6 Main Street closure for Parade of Lights and tree lighting

The Board approved a request to close Main Street on Dec. 6 to accommodate the Parade of Lights. Organizer Dena Woods told trustees she "has agreed to facilitate the Parade of Lights and would like to start the parade at 5:30 p.m. so that it is fully dark, and then light the Christmas Tree afterwards, around 6:00." Trustee Patterson moved to approve the closure and Trustee Nordyke seconded; the motion carried.
Town staff will coordinate logistics and traffic control for the closure. The Board’s approval authorizes organizers to use Main Street for the event on that date and allows staff to proceed with necessary operational preparations, including street closure signage and coordination with local vendors or volunteers.
