Hancock County Commission backs Browns Island for Market Street bridge replacement

"By aligning transportation infrastructure with planned industrial development, the region can maximize public investment," the Chair said. Commissioner (speaker 3) added that an existing bridge built by Weirton Steel would reduce property easements and facilitate a connection to the Industrial Bypass Road near Form Energy.
The vote to submit the commission's letter of support passed unanimously. The Chair said the submission is under consideration and will be brought to the public along with other suggested locations. No formal funding commitment by Hancock County was recorded; the county's action was a formal expression of support.
