Planning board recommends revised Land Development Code to City Council
Summary
After reviewing edits and member suggestions, the Mexico Beach Planning & Zoning Board voted Aug. 3 to recommend the revised Land Development Code — with staff to insert final tweaks — to the City Council for final adoption.
City planner Laura presented the near‑final Land Development Code (LDC) packet with color‑coded edits and summarized statutory constraints the board must consider. She told members the green highlights were mostly editorial cleanup, yellow were member proposals, and blue were newer staff insertions.
After line‑by‑line discussion of select articles and recommended edits, a motion "to recommend to the City Council to approve the land development code as written with the changes discussed tonight and any final changes to be inserted by staff prior to going to the council" passed on a recorded vote. Tammy performed the roll call; members present recorded "yes" votes and the board's recommendation now goes to the City Council for final action.
