Community Development Director Scott Lyons told the Commission that the Jensen family's request to rezone approximately 96 acres in the Mantua area from MU-160 to RR-5 had been considered by the Planning Commission, which recommended denial. The Planning Commission cited lack of adequate roadway capacity to support more homes and concluded the change would not represent orderly development of the county.
Following that recommendation, Commissioner Lee Perry moved to deny the rezone request. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Boyd Bingham and carried unanimously on a roll-call vote (Vincent, Bingham, Perry — all Yea).
