CEO previews traffic forum, downtown projects and ice-rink tariff; radios for communications audit

Everett asked commissioners and the public to attend a traffic forum that will include Montana Department of Transportation participation. He said a community ice-skating rink has shipping dates but the county will incur a $66,000 tariff to receive it. Everett also cited private projects—demolition of Hank's Hardware and a planned Valley Bank build, plus a home building center project across from The Forge—as signs of local development. "It is a definite go," Everett said of the home building center.
Separately, Everett reported the county's selected communications-audit vendor, Redtail Communications, provided handheld radios for testing and that staff are pursuing state and federal grant opportunities to help fund communications upgrades.
