County HR reports turnover; Berrien County selected for juvenile-justice pilot through Drexel

Kristen Reynolds, the county Director of Human Resources, presented employee turnover statistics, utilization of health benefits, and a set of priority projects she has identified for the Human Resources Department and the county. Commissioner Robert Harrison noted the department also arranged a donation of bullhorns to the Parks Department that will be brought back to the board for approval.
Commissioner Jim Curran told the board that "Berrien County has been selected as one of ten counties nationwide to participate in a pilot program through the Juvenile Justice Research and Reform Lab at Drexel University," a Community of Practice initiative intended to build peer-to-peer supports for county youth. Curran said the initiative will include further meetings and county participation in the pilot's activities, with a meeting scheduled for April 30, 2026.
