Berrien County Board of Commissioners members approved a multi-item consent calendar on April 23, 2026, moving forward a package of resolutions that included bills and road payables, an annual borrowing resolution for the treasurer, several contracts and grant applications, 2026 county equalization values and road-related contracts. Commissioner Chokwe Pitchford moved to approve the Consent Calendar; the motion passed on a roll call recorded as 11 yeas.
Executive Assistant Annette Christie told commissioners there had been an adjusted Whitman & Associates amount associated with Resolution B2604075 and Commissioners proceeded after that clarification. Commissioner Teri Sue Freehling announced she "abstained from Resolution #B2604075, Requisition 26001477 for Rev Excavating, LLC out of an abundance of caution." The clerk's roll call on the overall consent motion showed the motion carried with no nays. The approved resolutions listed on the consent calendar included (among others) F2604027 (Approve Bills & Road Payables), B2604075 (Requisitions List), F2604191 (Annual Borrowing Resolution Treasurer), P2604198 (Apply for Veteran Service Fund grant), A2604204 (contract with Leadson Line), P2604211 (Public Health Workforce & Infrastructure Grant), F2604212 (Full Faith & Credit Wall Drain #539 Project), A2604213 (Contract with Cornerstone for Yore Avenue Reconstruction Project) and A2604214 (MDOT Contract #25-5672 Red Arrow Highway).
