Committee approves waiver to fix Juvenile Center fire-main; $82,768 cost covered by project budget

Building & Grounds presented a waiver to replace the pipe from the Juvenile Center to the well after staff discovered the existing pipe was 4" rather than the NFPA-required 6" for the fire main. Don Trail told the committee that correcting the installation will cost an additional $82,768 and that sufficient project funds exist to cover the expense.
The committee had no objection and Chairperson Mamie L. Yarbrough signed the waiver to move it forward. Staff will proceed with Peerless Midwest for the 6" replacement under Waiver 2026-04-16-03 (listed in the committee's waivers table).
