County Engineer Adam Miller told the Floyd County Board on May 19 that crews completed cleanup and reopened T64 after a bridge rail accident and finished a culvert repair on 285th Street. He said construction is anticipated to begin June 1 on the bridge on 170th Street south of Rudd, and resurfacing on Packard Avenue (T47) is expected in August.
Miller presented options and estimates for an Underwood Avenue/T66 concrete overlay from 210th Street north to 155th Street: $2.6 million for the overlay alone and $3.8 million if additional safety features are included. He said safety grants of up to $500,000 per project may be available. Miller also presented Denco pavement-maintenance quotes totaling $231,104.46 (PCC crack filling $78,857.16 and HMA crack filling $152,247.30), which the Board approved 3-0.
