Floyd County schedules hearing on Conservation Board rules; conservation ranger resigns

Tyron Steere, Conservation Director, provided a Conservation Department update at the May 12 meeting and the Board voted to set a public hearing on Floyd County Ordinance 2026-02. The hearing is scheduled for June 2, 2026, at 9:15 a.m. in the Floyd County Courthouse Board Room.
During the same update the Board noted the resignation of Conservation Ranger/Natural Resource Manager Spencer Dejoode, effective May 29, 2026. The Board took no immediate personnel action during the meeting and did not announce a replacement timeline.
