Environmental Health reports FY26 spending, discusses shared duties and courthouse office

Floyd County Environmental Health reported April FY26 spending ($100,744.55 spent; $47,677.45 remaining), recent operational activity (27 well tests, nine septic permits, three well permits), and discussed shared duties with Public Health staff; Jessy Willadsen’s office will remain at the courthouse for now.
Jessy Willadsen provided the Board with an FY26 Environmental Health financial and activity report through April 2026. She said the department spent $100,744.55 with $47,677.45 remaining; the FY2026 budget was 83.29% complete while expenditures were 67.90%. Revenues received through April totaled $83,006.17.
Operationally, Willadsen reported 27 well water tests, nine septic permits issued, three well permits issued, two well pluggings and septic pump truck inspections. The board also discussed sharing Environmental Health duties: Public Health staff are taking phone calls, scheduling, sending and entering test results. The board agreed Jessy’s office will remain at the courthouse for now and the arrangement will be revisited as state HHS changes and during FY28 budget planning.
