Superintendent Ingrid Colvard told the board the district received a $62,180 grant to complete building energy assessments at West Rock Middle School (WRMS) and Stevenson High School (SHS). The energy assessments will allow more of the district's modernization grant dollars to go directly toward project costs rather than assessment work.
Colvard also reported that the district received verification that a Clean Buildings Performance Grant has been approved and is ready to proceed to contract negotiations. She said Congresswoman Gluesenkamp-Perez has nominated part of the CES HVAC project as a congressional funding priority, which could aid future capital work. The board took no separate vote on the grants beyond noting the awards and the superintendent’s update.
