HRB advances oral history program and approves CLG grant report and reimbursement request

The board heard updates on the oral history program and approved a Certified Local Government (CLG) progress report with a related reimbursement request on April 2.
Historic Preservation Officer Gayla Hess said an interview with Bill Puccinelli has been recorded and he may provide additional recollections in a follow-up. Gayla said three further interviews are scheduled and that a minimum of eight interviews is the target; Clark (mentioned during discussion) encouraged conducting more interviews and indicated confidence in available time and funding for editing. Members volunteered to recruit interview subjects.
Gayla also summarized the CLG report for the second half of the 2025–2026 grant year and explained the reimbursement request excludes the Glover Cabin assessment. The board agreed to submit a grant extension to the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) to allow the Glover Cabin work to proceed when weather permits. Terry LaValley moved to approve the CLG report and the motion carried 4-0.
