Multiple union and teacher representatives used the open‑session public comment period to press the board on bargaining transparency and budget priorities. "Management withheld financial documents essential to our negotiations for six weeks," said Kurt Greeley, who identified himself as speaking on behalf of the district faculty association. He said the association has filed two unfair labor practice charges this year and urged the board to seek corrective action.
Commenters also challenged the district's reported waiver to spend less than 50% of revenues on classroom instruction, asking when the board authorized that waiver and whether required public hearings took place. "This community deserves an answer to confirm whether management followed the law in pursuing that waiver," Greeley said.
Administrators presented and the board voted to approve two tentative agreements with the classified bargaining unit: one for work‑year calendars for 2026–27 (tentative agreement dated 04/13/2026) and one regarding the 2025–26 reclassification process; both motions passed on roll‑call votes with all present board members voting yes.
Speakers urged the board to follow up on transparency items — including making the superintendent's contract and management job descriptions available online — and to consider the teacher pay offers in light of recent staffing and budget decisions. District staff said a website migration is in progress and that missing documents will be posted before the end of the school year.
