Mayor Jenny Taylor opened a public hearing at 6:22 p.m. on required updates for the Lasher Street project. Public Works Director Cody Rosander presented a brief overview of the project and the grant funding that makes the work possible.
Several residents spoke during the hearing raising concerns about sidewalk locations and the loss of small amounts of property and habitat. Mary Repar objected to the proposed sidewalk locations, and Rick Leavitt noted that at the Chinedere development sidewalks were located on one side only to reduce impervious surface and runoff at the request of the Gorge Commission and Riverkeepers. Mayor Taylor closed the hearing at 6:26 p.m.; no council discussion followed immediately after the hearing and staff will continue design work and community outreach.
