Superintendent Ingrid Colvard told the board on Feb. 26 that the Governor, state House and Senate budgets have been released and that three commonly cited areas show cuts across all proposals: transportation depreciation, Running Start and transitional kindergarten (TK). She said the district will continue to advocate for the district but that there is limited room for influence at this stage.
Colvard also reported preliminary levy results: voter turnout for the election was 37%, and the levy passed with 56.66% of the vote, a higher passing rate than all but one previous campaign for the district. The minutes note that precincts voting no did so by very narrow margins.
