Santee district reports $43.9 million cash balance; Board approves monthly financial report

The Santee School District Board approved the district’s monthly financial report for transactions posted May 1 through June 30, 2024, after Assistant Superintendent of Business Services Dr. Marcia Hamilton presented the cash and budget revision transactions.
Dr. Hamilton reported the General Fund ended the month with a cash balance of approximately $43,862,559, which she said was sufficient to pay the District’s financial obligations using internal cash. Member Barbara Ryan moved approval of the report; the Board voted 4-0 in favor.
Separately, Dr. Hamilton presented information about State Facilities Program Modernization grants (see separate article) and clarified that those funds were deposited in Fund 40 and are restricted to facility needs.
