Wayne County approves inclusion of four parcels in Agricultural District No. 1 after public hearing

Madam Chair Leonard opened a public hearing at 9:05 a.m. for the annual review of requests to include parcels in Wayne County Agricultural District No. 1. Mr. Fantuzzo presented the county's SEQRA short environmental assessment and the Agricultural Development Board's recommendation that the parcels be considered predominantly viable agricultural land. The board closed the hearing at 9:24 a.m. and later adopted resolutions making the SEQRA determination and modifying District No. 1.
The notice of hearing listed four parcels proposed for inclusion and explained "The purpose of this hearing is to: a) receive input for the State Environmental Quality Review Act, (SEQRA) determination and b) to consider the proposed modification and consolidation of the District," language the board used as the basis for its procedural review. The board adopted RES 187-26 finding no significant adverse environmental impact and RES 188-26 approving inclusion of the parcels (tax IDs 63119-00-748277; 63111-00-337113; 74118-00-047693; 76118-00-221772). The resolutions were adopted with the supervisors present (Supervisors Johnson and Rice absent). The board's action incorporates the Agricultural Development Board's recommendation and updates the county's agricultural district map.
