Planning Commission recommends approval for Tanner's Ridge banquet venue

The Page County Planning Commission unanimously recommended approval of a special-use permit for Flourish Real Estate LLC to operate a banquet and event facility at 3434 Tanners Ridge Road in Stanley (tax map 100-(A)-6), following a brief staff presentation and supportive testimony from longtime neighbors.

Planner Tracy Clatterbuck summarized the application and told commissioners the parcel is zoned Woodland-Conservation and contains two single-family dwellings and a former stone church. Clatterbuck said staff reviewed agency comments and “recommends anything the agencies have requested or required be made conditions of the permit,” and noted the applicant provided a detailed operational narrative in the packet.

Several residents with personal and family history tied to the church spoke in favor. “It’s a beautiful church… I was born and raised right next door all my life,” neighbor Glenda Sue Holmes said, urging the commission to approve the reuse. Stephen Holmes and Susan Trobough also described personal connections to the property’s history and supported its restoration as a wedding and community venue.

After the public hearing, Commissioner Catherine Grech moved to recommend approval with the conditions dated June 3, 2026; Commissioner Chris Adams seconded. The motion passed on roll call 5-0. The commission record shows the recommendation will move forward to the Board of Supervisors for final action.
