The 2026 Capital Improvement Plan includes $500,000 for Jail Safety Improvements overall; staff described phase 1 as focused on furniture replacement to reduce safety risks.
Separately, Facilities Director Rob Wooten reported that a 2026 capital line item of $30,000 for Animal Control outdoor kennel construction has an updated cost estimate of approximately $72,000 due to scope and construction cost changes. Commissioners directed staff to seek additional MiDEAL vendor proposals, revise the project scope and return with updated cost information before approving full funding.
