District to create Child Nutrition Services coordinator after surge in meal participation

She told the Board the CNS department has 47 employees and the State auditor suggested adding another program administrator given the district's enrollment size and number of meals served. Dr. Hamilton recommended creating a Child Nutrition Services Coordinator position funded from CNS-specific funds (not the General Fund). Member Dianne El-Hajj moved approval and the motion passed 4-0.
Hamilton said the job description will be presented for approval at a later meeting. The Board recorded the funding source for the position as Child Nutrition Services-specific funds, stating the change would not impact the District General Fund.
