Superintendent Ingrid Colvard told the board the district was awarded 100% of its targeted TTK (targeted transitional kindergarten) slots and that interest currently exceeds available slots; staff will screen applicants to determine final enrollment.
"SCSD was awarded 100% of our slots and we have more than that number of interested families. We will need to conduct screening to know our exact enrollment but this means the program is safe and happening next year," Colvard said. She said the elementary enrollment so far mirrors this year with a few additional registrations.
Colvard also reported the district has signed a Memorandum of Understanding to pilot WIN (What I Need) time at the secondary level. The secondary schedule will run for a few weeks to identify implementation challenges and the elementary team is planning to align for full implementation with fidelity next year.
