Board appoints Derrick de Geus as Director of Transportation

The Santee School District Board unanimously approved the appointment of Derrick de Geus as Director of Transportation. Superintendent Dr. Kristin Baranski presented de Geus, noting he has more than 20 years of experience overseeing transportation operations at districts in San Diego County and completed the California Association of School Business Officials (CASBO) Transportation Leadership Academy in 2019. Member Dianne El-Hajj moved the nomination and the board voted 4-0 to appoint him.
Mr. de Geus expressed appreciation for the opportunity to serve the Santee School District community during the meeting. The Board did not attach additional conditions to the appointment during the public session.
