Board approves subsequent variable-term waiver and routine consent items including Williams report and delegation resolution

The board approved several action items in the business portion of the agenda, including a subsequent variable-term waiver to permit hiring a certificated band/music teacher under a subsequent waiver for 2025–26 after a diligent search did not identify a fully qualified candidate.
Sal Reynoso (speaker 28) presented the waiver and explained the public-notice requirement under the CTC. "The CTC requires public notice when the district intends to employ the certificated staff member based on a subsequent variable term waiver," he said. A board member moved to approve the waiver; after roll call the motion passed.
The board also held the required public hearing on the Williams uniform complaints quarterly report (July–September). Staff reported no complaints in textbooks and instructional materials, teacher vacancies/misassignments, or facilities conditions; the county team described the Righetti visit as successful. The hearing received no public comment and the board approved the report.
Separately, the board adopted a routine annual resolution delegating certain powers and duties to district employees and acknowledged the appointment of Kimberly Newton as fiscal services manager. The consent agenda, including new course adoptions such as criminology and forensic-science offerings, was approved by roll call. The board announced its next regular meeting on Nov. 4, 2025 and adjourned.
Votes were recorded by roll call on each action and the chair declared the motions passed.
