Selectboard hears paving, culvert and apron updates; some aprons may need milling

Board members reviewed paving progress and imminent roadside work, including planned gravel and swale work and specific tasks on Maple Street and in North Barnstead. Gary reported crews expected to start roadside gravel Friday and that several spots will get swales and possibly driveway aprons.
Staff described two properties where driveway aprons were not installed to the expected thickness; asphalt was left "pretty thick" and may require milling to allow a functional apron. "Some of it... left it pretty thick... They might have to mill it at the end or something to make it work," a board member said when describing the repair options.
Chair noted the paving RFP includes funding for aprons and other items the town did not complete previously, and asked whether staff or another official would facilitate the follow-up; staff agreed to coordinate and to set up contractor work so the town can complete those items.
The board also flagged French Road as the only paved road with culvert replacement currently needed and discussed timing for material and contractor scheduling.
