Engineers outline ARFF vehicle closeout, backup AWOS plan, PFC application; FAA BIL awards expected soon

Engineer Tim Wick briefed the board on several safety and funding items April 21, including the ARFF vehicle closeout (AIP 056), a backup AWOS procurement plan (Task Order 4), the 2026 PFC application and the status of FAA BIL terminal funding.
Wick said closeout documentation for the ARFF vehicle will be submitted to FAA and WYDOT. For the backup AWOS, he described a funding split in which construction is a $150,000 county responsibility, and equipment costs total $150,000 to be funded 80% by the state and 20% by the county. He also said the PFC application project list is complete and will go to the FAA for review ahead of airline notification. Finally, Wick told the board that FAA BIL terminal funding submissions were reviewed and selected projects should see an award announcement at the end of April or beginning of May.
