City staff previews draft 2026 comprehensive plan; council urged to review before workshop

"You all have been provided with a copy of the draft plan," the staff member said, encouraging council to read the draft and mark it up ahead of a scheduled workshop where consultants will walk through the plan section-by-section.
Council members thanked staff for the maps and visuals and raised substantive points for the upcoming workshop: Council member Evans urged the plan to consider soccer fields and expanded parks programming, noting that regional demand for soccer access is high. Staff and council discussed scheduling; the public hearing originally planned for August is likely to be moved to September to allow additional time for edits and the workshop review.
