Madam Clerk read consent items including vehicle purchases for Parks & Recreation (a 15‑passenger van for $56,857.52 and a pickup for $57,317.08), a 3‑station portable restroom trailer (not to exceed $63,232), selection of Miller Leggett and Associates for landscape master‑plan services ($200,000) and grant and utility contract approvals. The consent agenda (items 1–10 and 12) passed 5–0.
The commission also ratified an emergency repair purchase for a garbage truck from Palmetto Ford for $13,939; the manager said he authorized the repair after frontline trucks failed and a spare required towing. The motion to ratify passed 5–0.
Item 11, a resolution to authorize bulk fuel purchases from Sunshine Gasoline Distributors (not to exceed $339,160 for FY24–25 using Miami‑Dade contract terms), was considered while the mayor recused; that item passed 4–0. Later, the commission confirmed the appointment of Israel Rosado to serve on the Historic Preservation Board for a two‑year term ending 10/15/2026; the appointment passed 5–0.
These votes clear routine procurement and staffing items so the commission could proceed to major items later in the agenda.
