Douglas County commissioners voted July 28 to approve an ordinance enabling golf cars to be driven within SID 597 (Legend Trails). The board first voted to waive the three-reading requirement and then approved the resolution to adopt the proposed ordinance; the clerk recorded a seven-to-zero voice vote.
Chairman Garcia read the resolution title into the record: "Resolution to Approve a Proposed Golf Car Ordinance to Allow Golf Cars to be Driven Within SID 597 Legend Trails in Douglas County." After a motion by Commissioner Morgan and a second by Commissioner Rogers, commissioners each voiced their "yes" votes and the chair declared the motion to approve the ordinance passed seven to zero. The county noted receipt of one email in opposition from a resident, but no public comment was offered during the hearing.
The board did not adopt substantive amendments to the ordinance at the hearing; any operational rules or enforcement provisions will be handled per county code and the SID's governing arrangements.
