Early Head Start reports federal improper payment review request; Home Visitor vacancy persists

Financial Services Manager Jana Webb and Early Head Start Manager Ashley King told the board the program completed an initial submission for a federal Improper Payment Review and has since received an additional request asking for the payroll allocation plan. The board was notified that the review is underway and that staff are assembling requested documentation.
King reported staffing challenges for Early Head Start: one Home Visitor position is open and three applicants have applied; King will carry a caseload temporarily to ensure continuity of services. She also said the program purchased cell phones for Home Visitors and is updating its health-tracking system to improve consistency with performance standards.
Board members did not record additional motions related to the federal review in the minutes; the report was accepted and logged as part of New Business.
