"We have a section on 3rd Street that's gotta get replaced," said Dave Buckwald. He estimated the system includes roughly 13.6 miles of sewer pipe; while some segments are older AC pipe, later replacement work introduced PVC in other areas. Buckwald said most of the network is performing but that winter surcharging and local infiltration in some basins require targeted repair projects.
Why it matters: aging pipeline segments create occasional service and maintenance needs and have capital implications. Staff said the master plan identifies priority sections and that replacement work will proceed as resources and assessments dictate.
