Staff proposed two date blocks for a council retreat: May 19'20 and June 16'17. Councilors debated formats (one long evening plus a full day vs. 1.5'2 days) and start times for regular meetings and retreats. Pete (staff) said facilitators would be asked to take 1:1 time with council members in advance and that the retreat schedule could be compressed if the council preferred.
The group generally agreed to try a May 19 work session (4'8 p.m., with dinner) and a full day May 20, noting members' availability constraints. Councilors discussed shifting regular work sessions earlier to end sooner (3'3:30 p.m. starts were suggested) but left the regular 4 p.m. start in place for now and agreed to revisit timing later in the year as the new council settles into procedures.
