Hillsboro board accepts retirement, several resignations and approves multiple hirings; coaches re‑employed

After executive session the Hillsboro board accepted Administrator Michelle Reeves—s letter of intent to retire (effective end of 2028/2029), approved several resignations including CNA instructor Ashley Greenwalt (effective 12/18/2024) and junior high science teacher Morgan Cawthon (end of school year), and approved hires including two teachers aides, a custodian and multiple coaches; one coach re‑employment passed 6‑1.
Following an executive session on personnel and student discipline, the board approved several personnel actions on Dec. 10, 2024. The board accepted Administrator Michelle Reeves—s letter of intent to retire at the conclusion of the 2028/2029 school year (voice vote). The board approved the resignation of CNA Instructor Ashley Greenwalt effective Dec. 18, 2024 and accepted the resignation of Junior High Science Teacher Morgan Cawthon effective at the conclusion of the school year; no action was taken on employment of a CNA instructor or a part‑time nurse at this meeting.
The board approved the resignation of Teachers Aide Jamie Holbert effective immediately and then approved employment of Teachers Aides McKenna Moore and Jennifer Carron by roll call vote (7—0). The board approved the employment of Don Downs as custodian (7—0). On athletics matters the board approved the re‑employment of Assistant Football Coach Bill Reed on a 6—1 roll call vote (Mike Cerutti voted no) and re‑employed the remaining fall coaches 7—0. The board also approved Head Softball Coach Heather Lessman and Associate Head Softball Coach Amber Connor (7—0).
