The Hillsboro Community Unit School District #3 Board of Education unanimously adopted the district—s 2024 tax levy at its Dec. 10, 2024 regular meeting. Superintendent Powell told the board there were no substantial changes since the levy was presented in November and that the district—s EAV estimate did not change; the board approved moving forward with under‑levying.
The motion to approve the 2024 Tax Levy was made by Nathan Kirby and seconded by John Lentz; the roll call vote was 7—0 in favor (Matt Lentz, Brian Patton, John Lentz, Blake Furness, Kassie Greenwood, Mike Cerutti and Nathan Kirby).
Board members and district staff framed the levy as a routine annual action tied to the district—s budget process. Separately, the board also approved a procedural Resolution Abating the Tax Levy to Pay Debt Service on General Obligation School Bonds (an action requested by county clerks) by the same 7—0 vote. Both motions were presented by Superintendent Powell and moved by Nathan Kirby.
