Twisp council reviews Capital Facilities Plan; council seeks traffic study for Glover Street/Highway 20

The Twisp Town Council conducted an initial review Dec. 17 of the draft Capital Facilities Plan (CFP) for 2025–30. Mayor Smith emphasized that the meeting was for Council review only and that no action would be taken; the CFP will be reviewed by committees and taken to public hearing after those reviews.
Council Member Katrina Auburn raised a concern about the Glover Street and Highway 20 intersection, saying she was concerned it was placed lower on the priority list despite an increase in tourism and insufficient traffic control. Director Denham responded that the town currently has a planning grant application pending for a traffic study of the south stretch of Highway 20; if that grant is awarded, the study would include the Glover Street intersection.
Council Member Will Menzies asked for clarification on Sports Complex Phase 2 and whether water service would be extended to the airport or sports complex. Mayor Smith said the Phase 2 vision includes additional, smaller fields suitable for younger players. Director Denham said town staff are interested in extending and looping the water system to serve that area but provided no timetable or funding commitment in the minutes.
The CFP item was informational at this meeting; committees will perform detailed reviews and the council will hold a public hearing before any final adoption.
