Police report: 21 calls in month; commander proposes FOIA fee for reports

During the Sept. 18 meeting the police department reported activity for Aug. 21–Sept. 17: "From 8/21 to 9/17, there were 21 calls. 11 Traffic, 8 tickets and 1 admin tow. YTD there are 136 calls." Chief Caldwell/Commander Copp reminded residents to be considerate of construction crews, noted that McHenry County Sheriff Office has an unarmed mental-health unit, and urged caution around fall burning.
In new-business discussion Commander Copp recommended revising the FOIA ordinance to include a modest fee for printing and for police-report copies. Attorney Gibson will draft proposed ordinance language and present it at the next board meeting for review. No ordinance change was adopted on Sept. 18.
