Longtime resident urges funding for parks, water-sewer upkeep and local medical examiner

John Horvath told the board Sept. 11 that he has attended budget hearings for nearly two decades and urged continued investment in parks, water and sewer infrastructure, and lift-station replacements.
Horvath asked whether the county is contemplating a local medical examiner’s office, given Seminole County’s roughly 500,000 population; the chair said the idea is still in planning stages with many moving parts. Horvath also encouraged the board to spend budget funds on needed infrastructure or to build fire stations where service gaps exist.
